Match blade span to room area: under 12 m² → 100–110 cm fan; 12–20 m² → 120–130 cm; over 20 m² (open-plan kitchens, lofts, large living rooms) → 150 cm and above. This 165 cm (65-inch) model is built for large open spaces — small bedrooms or compact kitchens will feel overpowered.

Not necessarily — air movement is driven by the motor and blade pitch, not blade count. Where 10 blades win is feel and sound: more blades move air more smoothly with less turbulence at low speeds, so the airflow feels gentler and the fan runs quieter. The DC motor in this model adds the real efficiency gain — up to 75% less power draw versus equivalent AC fans.

A DC (direct current) motor uses electronically controlled magnets, which gives it three big advantages over an older AC motor: dramatically lower power consumption (this fan tops out at modest watts), quieter operation, and finer speed control — six speeds with smooth transitions instead of three sharp steps. DC fans are also lighter, which reduces ceiling-mount stress.

The integrated Smart by Bond technology connects to Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Nest, Ecobee, SmartThings, Control4, ELAN and Hubitat. You can control fan speed, light dimming, and reverse direction by voice or app — useful in summer (downdraft cooling) and winter (updraft to push warm air down).

This is a Minka-Aire model originally specified for 120V. Before ordering for installation in Latvia or the rest of the EU, please contact us — we will confirm the voltage variant in stock or recommend a step-down transformer for safe operation. Do not connect a 120V-only unit directly to a 220V circuit; the motor will be damaged immediately.

The fan hangs roughly 54.6 cm below the ceiling on a standard down-rod, so the lowest blade tip sits about 65–70 cm below the ceiling once the rod and mounting plate are accounted for. Building codes generally require 2.1 m clearance from blade tip to floor — meaning a minimum ceiling height of around 2.7–2.8 m. For sloped ceilings, request a sloped-ceiling kit.

Delivery is 25–40 days by sea freight to our EU hub plus 2–5 days last-mile to Latvia and EU addresses. Installation should be done by a qualified electrician — wiring, ceiling reinforcement and voltage matching are not DIY work for a fan this size.
