EU Consumer Rights

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive), you have the right to withdraw from distance contracts within 14 days without giving any reason. This is in addition to any voluntary return policy we offer. Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.

14-Day Withdrawal

EU statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of receiving your order, no reason required. The withdrawal period expires 14 days from delivery.

30-Day Extended

We extend returns to 30 days for unopened items in original packaging. After 14 days, items must be completely unused with all tags attached.

Quality Guarantee

2-year legal guarantee for defects under EU law. Manufacturing defects reported within 48 hours of delivery receive priority processing.

Exchange Options

Exchanges for different sizes or colors when available, subject to stock. Price differences apply if exchanging for a different item.

How to Exercise Your Withdrawal Right

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement. You may use the following methods:

  • Email: returns@simpleinteriorideas.com with your order number and reason (optional)
  • Post: Send written notice to our registered address in Riga, Latvia
  • You must send back the goods within 14 days of communicating your withdrawal
  • Keep proof of return shipment (tracking number) until refund is processed

Return Conditions

  • Items must be unused, unwashed, unaltered, and in original condition
  • Original packaging must be intact and included (required for extended 30-day returns)
  • All tags, labels, and accessories must be attached and included
  • You bear the direct cost of returning the goods
  • You may handle goods only as necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning

Items Excluded from Right of Withdrawal

As permitted under EU Consumer Rights Directive Article 16, the following items are excluded:

  • Custom-made or clearly personalized goods (e.g., engraved items, custom sizes)
  • Sealed goods not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, where unsealed after delivery (e.g., candles, personal care items)
  • Goods that have been inseparably mixed with other items after delivery
  • Items marked as "Final Sale" at the time of purchase
  • Items showing clear signs of use, damage, or modification beyond examination

Refund Process and Timeline

  • We will reimburse you within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or proof of return shipment
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
  • Original shipping costs are refundable only if the entire order is returned
  • We may reduce the refund to reflect any diminished value if this results from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the goods
  • A 15% restocking fee may apply to voluntary returns (after 14-day period) without original packaging

Defective or Damaged Items

  • If you receive a defective or damaged item, contact us immediately with photos
  • Report shipping damage within 48 hours of delivery for priority processing
  • Under EU legal guarantee, you have 2 years to claim for lack of conformity
  • For defects appearing within first year, the burden of proof is on us to show the item was conforming at delivery
  • We cover return shipping costs for confirmed defective items

Important Legal Notice

This policy is designed to comply with EU consumer protection laws including Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights) and Directive 2019/771 (Sale of Goods). Your statutory rights under applicable law are not affected by this policy.

We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet the conditions stated above or where there is evidence of abuse, fraud, or commercial resale activity. Repeated excessive returns may result in account restrictions. All decisions regarding the condition of returned goods are made upon our inspection and are final, subject to your statutory rights.
