Teak Root Coffee Table - Solid Teak Wood

Yes. Each table is carved from one section of root, so shape, grain and outline differ from piece to piece. Photographs show a representative example rather than the exact table you receive.

Solid reclaimed teak root, taken from the root ball left after a teak tree is felled for timber. It is a single piece of wood rather than joined boards or veneer.

Dust the crevices with a soft brush and wipe with a barely damp cloth. Teak holds its own oil, so regular oiling is unnecessary indoors. If the surface looks dry and pale after several years, a thin coat of teak oil restores it. Over-oiling leaves a sticky film.

The root is kiln dried before carving, which does most of the settling. Fine surface checking can still appear as humidity changes through the year. Keeping the table away from direct sun and radiators prevents most of it.

These are finished for indoor use. Teak survives outdoors, but with a different finish, and an indoor piece left outside will grey and roughen.
