Can you wash linen curtains?
Yes. Cold or 30C on a gentle cycle, mild detergent, no bleach or fabric softener. Hang them damp so the weight pulls the creases out. Tumble drying shrinks linen and is the most common way people ruin a pair.
Do linen curtains shrink?
Some shrinkage on the first wash is normal, usually a few percent. Wash cold and hang to dry to keep it minimal. If you are ordering floor length, that first drop is worth allowing for.
How do you get creases out of linen curtains?
Hang them and let gravity do most of it over a day or two. For the rest, steam rather than iron; a steamer relaxes the fibre without pressing a shine into it. Linen is meant to look slightly rumpled.
