For delicate or antique pieces, hand washing in cool water is recommended to preserve their integrity. Always separate whites from colors to prevent dye transfer.
Removing stains
For fresh spills, gently blot the area immediately with a clean, dry cloth, then rinse with cold water. For tougher stains, apply a small amount of mild washing-up liquid directly to the spot, let it sit for a few minutes, then gently rub before washing as usual. Avoid harsh bleaches, especially on colored items, as they can damage fibers and fade dyes.
Drying and ironing
Air drying is best for linen and cotton; lay items flat or hang them to prevent stretching and minimize wrinkles. If using a dryer, select a low heat setting and remove items while slightly damp to reduce creasing and avoid over-drying, which can weaken fibers. Iron linen and cotton while still slightly damp on a medium-high setting to smooth out wrinkles effectively.

Fold or roll them neatly to avoid permanent creases, and store in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight.
