Caring for glass
Glass is a durable and non-porous material, making it easy to keep clean and hygienic. However, it is brittle and susceptible to breakage from impacts or sudden temperature changes.
How to clean glass items
For routine cleaning, wipe surfaces with a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner or a solution of water and a small amount of white vinegar. For vases or bowls, fill with warm soapy water (using a mild washing-up liquid), let it soak, then use a soft bottle brush to reach inside before rinsing thoroughly. Dry immediately with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.
Repairing broken or cracked glass
Unfortunately, significant breaks or cracks in glass decor items are generally not repairable at home in a way that restores structural integrity or aesthetic appeal. Attempting to glue broken pieces may result in visible seams, weakened points, and potential safety hazards. For minor chips that do not compromise function or safety, professional repair might be an option, but it's often more practical to replace the item.
Removing stubborn marks and residue
For hard water spots, soak the item in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water for 30 minutes, then scrub gently with a soft brush or cloth. Sticky residue from labels can be removed by gently rubbing with a small amount of rubbing alcohol or an oil-based cleaner, then cleaning as usual. Always test any strong cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area first.
Preventing damage to glass items
Place glass decor on stable, flat surfaces away from edges where they might be easily knocked over. Avoid exposing glass to extreme or sudden temperature changes, as this can cause thermal shock and lead to cracking. Handle items carefully, especially when cleaning or moving, to prevent impacts that could cause chips or breaks.
Shipping and delivery
Shipping is free worldwide on most orders. Orders are prepared within one to three days, and most arrive 9 to 18 days after you order.
Large and heavy pieces, such as furniture, can carry a delivery charge because they ship as freight rather than as a parcel. Any charge is calculated from your address and shown at checkout before you pay, so nothing is added afterwards.
Every piece is checked before it leaves the workshop, and every order is sent with tracking so you can follow it to your door.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is this curtain made of?
It is made from glass. Because it is worked by hand from a natural material, grain, tone and weave vary slightly from piece to piece, so the one you receive will not be identical to the photograph.
How do you clean and care for glass?
Wash by hand in warm soapy water and dry with a lint-free cloth to avoid water marks. Avoid abrasive scourers, which leave fine scratches that dull the surface over time.
Can it be used outdoors?
This piece is made for indoor use. Natural fibre and untreated wood swell, fade and eventually split when left outside.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are prepared within one to three days and usually arrive 9 to 18 days after you order, depending on the destination. Shipping is free. We ship across the EU, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia.
What is the return policy?
You can return an item within 30 days of delivery. Returns are made by post and the return postage is paid by the customer. The item needs to come back in its original condition.
